Can SEALs become even better operators?  Rear Adm. Tim Szymanski, commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, thinks they can and has asked industry to demonstrate technologies that offer “cognitive enhancement” capabilities to boost his elite forces’ mental and physical performance by stimulating certain areas of the brain.  There’s a terrific article on this that I encourage you to check out.

Be sure to catch the video at the end of the article.  It’s called 5 Things You Don’t Know About: Navy SEALs.  Among other things, it talks about Mike Day.  If you haven’t read about Mike, let me just say that he’s the only person I know of who was shot 27 times and who still managed to kill four Al-Qaeda fighters who were shooting at him and survive.  If you want to learn more about Mike, here’s another video that tells more of his story.
